Family & Friends,
I was very surprised to learn that the neuro ICU was originally planning on discharging Stephen the day after surgery (Friday). However, he was still having difficulty getting up and moving around much and having lots of nausea when he did so. Because of that they did allow him to stay through Saturday morning. We went and picked him up around 8:30am yesterday (Saturday) and brought him home. The entire move was really difficult for him but as soon as he got home and into bed all was well again.
I was given strict instructions to make sure he is up and moving as much as possible which is much easier said than done. He is still pretty weak, dizzy, and his vision is not functioning normally yet. Yesterday he did get up to use the washroom and did walk around the room once or twice. This morning he was up for a longer period of time and was able to take a shower and get cleaned up so that was positive. He has also been eating some more food today and said that sushi sounded good. :)
I wanted to share some images below from the last few days and especially wanted to share the MRI imaging of the after/before with you all.
I hope these few images help with knowing what these past few days have looked like for us. We especially continue to marvel at and rejoice in the MRI imaging and the tremendous success the removal was!
Will share more about recovery at home and more pictures soon.
Love to you all,
Laura (& Stephen)
Praise God! I pray that Stephen is stronger each day. I also pray for your strength Laura, as you care for Stephen. Thanks so much for sharing the photos, especially the MRI! It was great to see the success first hand.
God's grace is sufficient for all, and I am so glad that He has and never will fail us through times like this! Great is His Faithfulness towards us. Praising God for a miraclaulous recovery 🙏🏾 🙌🏾 ❤️
