Dear Friends and Family,
It has been quite a whirlwind this month due to the unexpected change in surgery but it has also consisted of much answered prayer. In a previous post I had asked for prayer that I would be well enough to attend our church elder retreat with Laura, and we were indeed able to do because of the change of date for the surgery. I could spend quite some time sharing the story of seeing God’s providence in the answered prayer, but please know it was a significant blessing for both of us to be able to be on the elder retreat. Thank you for your continued prayer. The Lord has clearly heard and answered with generosity in many ways already.
Wednesday I will head to the hospital at 10 am for the angiogram test. It will be several hours long and I have been told to anticipate being there for the rest of the week. The big surgery is on Thursday morning at 7 am. It will be about 6 hours in length.
My symptoms related to the tumor have only continued to increase the past few weeks including fatigue, dizziness, memory loss, and double vision. I am very glad that the surgery is this week and I am hopeful there will be no further delays.
Here are some specific ways I would ask for prayer:
Please pray the angiogram is helpful to Dr. Dunn and reveals any other information needed for the surgery.
Please pray the tumor is benign and will not regrow
Please pray that my recovery is quick and will result in a return to a sense of normalcy physically for me.
Laura will send out an update here on Thursday or Friday with how my surgery went.
If interested or able — one way you can tangibly help during this time is through our meal train that was setup by the elders at Frontline. Here is the LINK.
As always thank you so very much for your care for us and the many of you that we have known in different seasons of life that are praying. We have felt very loved.
In Christ,
Stephen
“…we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope…”
-Romans 5:3
We will be praying for you on Thursday - for the Lord's peace, presence and healing.
Praying for you, your family, your doctor and all the medical professionals who will be caring for you. May God wrap his arms around you and allow you to feel his peace and comfort
